AJCE Contacts ("we", "our", "app") is an application for browsing Amal Jyothi College of Engineering contact information and optionally identifying incoming calls from AJCE contacts.

1. Information We Access

Depending on enabled features, the app may access:

• Phone state information (READ_PHONE_STATE) to detect incoming calls for optional Caller ID.
• Contacts (READ_CONTACTS) to suppress overlay if the incoming number already exists in your personal contacts.
• Overlay permission (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW) to display caller information over the call screen when enabled.
• Internet access to fetch AJCE directory data from configured APIs.

2. How We Use Information

• Show AJCE staff directory and contact details.
• Match incoming numbers with locally cached AJCE contact data.
• Show Caller ID overlay for matching AJCE numbers (only when user enables this feature).

3. Data Storage and Processing

• AJCE directory/staff data may be cached locally on your device.
• Incoming phone numbers for Caller ID are processed on-device.
• We do not sell personal data.

4. Data Sharing

We do not share user personal contacts or incoming call numbers with third parties for advertising purposes. If backend APIs are used for AJCE data sync, only required directory-related requests are sent.

5. Optional Feature Control

Caller ID is optional and can be enabled/disabled in app settings. Permissions can be revoked anytime from Android settings.

6. Data Retention

Locally cached data remains on the device until app data is cleared, app is uninstalled, or storage is manually cleared.

7. Security

We use reasonable measures to protect locally stored data and app communications. No system guarantees absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

This app is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Updated versions will be posted with a revised effective date.

Privacy Policy for MCKA Hostel

MCKA Hostel ("we", "our", "app") is a hostel administration application for authorized staff of MCKA hostels at Amal Jyothi College of Engineering. Staff use it for attendance, outpass, gate security, complaints, dues, and student records. The app is published as MCKA Hostel with Android package name in.mcka.hostelapp.

1. Information We Access

Depending on the signed-in role, the app may access:

• Account credentials: staff username and password, sent to the college hostel server to sign in. The password is not kept on the device after sign-in.
• Session data: a login token stored in encrypted device storage, plus role, hostel, and related session values stored in app preferences.
• Student records held by the college, including name, admission number, photograph, phone number, course, branch, semester, year, hostel, floor, and room.
• Hostel activity: attendance, outpass requests and approvals, gate in and out records, complaints or disciplinary notes, dues, and academic grade information shown to authorized staff.
• Camera to scan a student barcode for attendance or gate verification. The app uses the admission number from the scan. It does not save a photo gallery.
• Phone dialer: when a staff member chooses to call a student, the app opens the device phone app with that number. The app does not place the call by itself.
• Internet to exchange hostel data with mcka API and to show a student information page from that server.

2. How We Use Information

• Authenticate hostel staff and keep them signed in until they log out.
• Show and update attendance, outpass, security, complaint, due, and student records for the hostels the account is allowed to manage.
• Let authorized staff open a student phone number in the dialer or view the student information page.

We do not use this information for advertising, and we do not sell it.

3. Data Storage and Processing

• Hostel and student records are processed on the college server at MCKA API.
• The login token is stored in encrypted storage on the device. Other session values are stored in app preferences.
• Student details shown on screen are loaded from the server for the signed-in session. Android backup of app data is turned off.

4. Data Sharing

Student and hostel data is sent only to the college hostel system that operates this app. We do not share it with third parties for advertising. A phone number is handed to the device dialer only when a staff member chooses to call.

5. Permissions

The app requests Internet and Camera. Camera is used for barcode scanning and can be denied in Android settings; scanning will then be unavailable. The app can ask Android to open the phone dialer. It does not request access to personal contacts, location, SMS, or device storage.

6. Data Retention

Records remain on the college hostel server according to the institution's record-keeping practice. On the device, the login token and session are removed when the user logs out. They are also removed when app data is cleared or the app is uninstalled.

7. Security

The app communicates with the hostel server over HTTPS. The login token is stored with the device encrypted-storage facility. No system guarantees absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

MCKA Hostel is for authorized college hostel staff. It displays student records maintained by Amal Jyothi College of Engineering. It is not directed at children under 13, and it is not a general-purpose app for the public.
